Cancer Treatments

Treatment of cancer is dependent upon many factors including the type of cancer, if it has spread (metastasized), and the general health of the patient.

Treatment options typically include surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and minimally invasive targeted treatment. In conjunction with your doctors – medical or radiation oncologists and surgeon – interventional radiologists can provide treatments for certain tumors involving the liver, kidney, lung, and bone. These targeted, minimally invasive treatments include radiofrequency ablation (RFA) and embolization using low-dose radioactive particles or chemotherapy agents directly into the tumor, among others.
